Position: Senior Engineer
Location: Cupertino, CA
Job Description:
The field engineering and services division has an opening for a Senior Engineer to help develop (as well as co-develop with partners) mobile applications applying Ecrio client frameworks for proofs of concept on various platforms. In addition the Senior Software Engineer will participate with end customers in Interoperability Testing of the products supporting engineering, business development and sales teams to ensuring products meet the needs within field engagements.
Major Responsibilities:
- Design and implement applications targeting variety of wireless platforms, including J2ME, BREW, Symbian, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Win32
- Apply Mobile Software frameworks
- Lead and collaborate with other team members in mobile applications development methodology
- Work closely with User Experience Design, as well as other Development and Product Management teams
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Educational background in Computer Science or Engineering
- Prior knowledge in Client/Client Server development in one or more of the following mobile platforms: Windows Mobile, Win32, Symbian, Brew, J2ME with device platform porting experience
- Familiar with one or more mobile messaging standards and applications ( VoIP, Push To Talk, Video Share, 3GPP/IETF )
- Proven track record of building mobile applications using C/C++ ( 4+ years is desired)
Preferred:
- Experience with mobile consumer applications and content development and support experience
- Experience developing within the constraints of mobile device limitations
- Good understanding of mobile application end-user interface design
- Software development and porting experience across multiple platforms and devices
- Skilled at learning new technologies
- Practices test-driven, continuous integration, and iterative development
- Able to learn and work with existing code
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills
- B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field
