Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) Client

Flexible and Complete

Designed especially for mobile handsets with stringent resource demands, Ecrio's Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) solution includes:

  • A reference IMPS client for mobile service providers or device manufacturers looking to deploy an IMPS application quickly and with no customization.
  • A development toolkit and library for developers who choose to customize (including task flow, user interface and branding) the IMPS client.
  • A highly modular set of open application programming interfaces (API's) to help developers achieve a lightweight client while still allowing easy extension for new services.

In addition, Ecrio can optimize the client software according to resident device OS, memory, general peripherals, user interface, and language requirements.

Deployment Ready

The Ecrio IMPS client is available for feature phones, smart phones and wireless personal digital assistants. They are available either as embedded C clients or as downloadable J2ME™ clients. The embedded C clients are available on native OS, Symbian OS, Pocket PC, Smartphone and Palm OS® operating systems. The clients have also been pre-integrated and tested with feature phone platforms such as APOXI™, OMAP™, BREW™, etc. to accelerate the development of custom IMS-compliant applications.

Each version of Ecrio's IMPS client has been thoroughly tested for interoperability and network support over GSM, GPRS, CDMA, EDGE, UMTS, and WiFi networks, and in Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) interoperability test events against numerous third party servers and clients.

Industry Standards Support

Ecrio's IMPS client software comes with support from a company with proven experience in delivering standards-compliant, interoperable solutions to the mobile phone market. The clients support the OMA Wireless Village Initiative with Presence, Instant Messaging, Group and Shared Content services.
