Teleca Selects Ecrio's Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) Software to Enable its ObigoTM Mobile Suite with Presence Enabled Applications
Obigo Framework to Combine Browsing, Messaging, Content Management with Instant Messaging
Cupertino, California and Stockholm, Sweden - July 23rd, 2003 — Teleca Mobile Technologies, one of the foremost suppliers of device application software, and Ecrio Inc., leading provider of instant communications application and infrastructure software solutions, today announced a global licensing and distribution agreement whereby Teleca will offer Ecrio's Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) software as part of the Obigo mobile suite.
The agreement enables Teleca to integrate Ecrio's software into its products, and brings a combined experience for presence-based services, instant messaging, browsing and multimedia messaging all in one. Teleca and Ecrio are committed to developing and deploying commercially interoperable IMPS solutions using open industry standards such as the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) Instant Messaging and Presence Services (IMPS) specifications (formerly Wireless Village).

The Ecrio IMPS Handset Software is available for mobile phones, wireless personal digital assistants, and smartphones. It is available either as downloadable J2ME™ or as embedded C software offered on native OS (Nucleus, OSE, etc.), Symbian®, PocketPC®, and PalmOS® operating systems and is compliant with the OMA IMPS specifications.
